Beschreibung

The Institute for Communication and Navigation of DLR Oberpfaffenhofen is looking for a motivated master student (electrical engineering/computer science or similar) who is interested in fisheye camera calibration and error analysis.

Your Mission:
We are developing the reliable navigation system for autonomous cars as well as air transport (e.g. UAM, air taxi).

These vehicles typically operate in environments such as urban environments where high accuracy is required but the performance of satellite navigation techniques is degraded by local effects such as satellite signal shadowing and multipath.

Efficient and safe landing of UAM vehicles in vertiports in urban areas is a challenge.

We offer a pleasant working atmosphere in a successful research and development group, state-of-the-art equipment and an environment with national and international corporations.

Flexible working hours and an individual arrangement for mobile working are a matter of course for us. If we have made you curious, we look forward to getting to know you

Your Tasks:
- development and analysis of innovative methods for fisheye camera calibration
- implementation and validation of the developed methods through simulations and tests
- error analysis and modeling of calibration results

Your Qualification:

  • Master students in engineering (e.g. electrical engineering, computer science and communication engineering) or others relevant to the job (e.g. mathematics)
- solid knowledge in mathematics and statistics as well as estimation theory
- solid knowledge in visual navigation
- demonstrable knowledge of the Python programming language
- very good knowledge of English
- knowledge of the programming languages C/C++ is a plus
- knowledge of ROS is a plus

Contacts:

  • CV
  • Cover letter
  • Transcripts of your bachelor and master studies
  • ETC (Anything else you think it is relevant to the position)
