The Division of Microbiology at the Department Biology/Chemistry is seeking to appoint a post-doctoral scientist to commence work at the earliest possible date.

The position is temporary limited until December 31, 2026. An extension is intended.

Your Duties:

You will work on project P8 "Dynamic manipulation of functional plasticity of the host cell endosomal system by an intracellular pathogen" in the DFG-funded Collaborative Research Center SFB 1557:

Planning, execution and analysis of experiments on the interaction of the pathogen Salmonella enterica with host cells
Analysis of reorganization of the endosomal system of mammalian cells by intracellular Salmonella
Livecell imaging and correlative light and electron microscopy of infected cells
Analysis of the interaction of bacterial effector proteins with endomembranes of host cells
Single molecule analyses of bacterial effector proteins in host cells

Requirements:

D. in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, or related field of study

Strong research interest in cellular microbiology
Willingness to integrate in a highly interdisciplinary research environment
