Post-doctoral researcher (M/F/d)

(Pay Scale E 13 TV-L, 100%)


The Division of Microbiology at the Department Biology/Chemistry is seeking to appoint a post-doctoral scientist to commence work at the earliest possible date.

The position is temporary limited until December 31, 2026. An extension is intended.


Your Duties:

You will work on project P8 "Dynamic manipulation of functional plasticity of the host cell endosomal system by an intracellular pathogen" in the DFG-funded Collaborative Research Center SFB 1557:

  • Planning, execution and analysis of experiments on the interaction of the pathogen Salmonella enterica with host cells
  • Analysis of reorganization of the endosomal system of mammalian cells by intracellular Salmonella
  • Livecell imaging and correlative light and electron microscopy of infected cells
  • Analysis of the interaction of bacterial effector proteins with endomembranes of host cells
  • Single molecule analyses of bacterial effector proteins in host cells

Requirements:


  • Ph.
D. in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, or related field of study

  • Strong research interest in cellular microbiology
  • Willingness to integrate in a highly interdisciplinary research environment
