Environmental Compliance Specialist (f/m/d).


In this role, you will work with us to ensure compliance with upcoming regulations related to deforestation in the EU, UK, US, and other regions, by establishing a group-wide due diligence system.

This contract is initially limited to two years.


Exciting tasks are waiting for you:


  • Solution-driven: Implement and further refine the roadmap for compliance with the upcoming regulations on deforestation.

Customer-focused: Serve as first entry point within NKG for any requests related to deforestation.

Collaborative: Coordinate team of experts from different departments (incl. compliance, sustainable business unit, legal, supply chain management, procurement) and group companies worldwide.

Engaging: Lead communication between different stakeholders internally (Board of Management, General Management, Trade, Supply Chain Management and Sustainability teams of importing and exporting companies worldwide) and support external communications.

Future-focused: Lead set-up of NKG internal Due Diligence systems for deforestation compliance, including selection and contracting of third parties, aligned with existing structures and requirements of related regulations.

Entrepreneurial: Drive the operationalization of the DD system, including IT systems for information sharing, supplier management, shipping procedures, and contractual implications.

Strategic: Synthesize new regulations on deforestation and identify implications for NKG business.


This is what you can offer:


  • Education:University degree in business administration, supply chain management, sustainability, (tropical) forestry, agronomy, or international law.

Background:Relevant work experience, preferably in global supply chain management, supplier management, the setup of due diligence systems, deforestation, certifications, FLEGT/EUTR, or ESG reporting. You should possess expertise in effectively communicating complex concepts to diverse audiences, along with strong project management skills, preferably in an agile environment.

Supply chain sharpness: Your entrepreneurial mindset and experience in supply chains of coffee or other commodities are a plus.

Personality: Analytical working style, solution-driven mindset, service mentality and openness to work in a multicultural environment.

Internationality: You demonstrate strong intercultural skills and an excellent command of English; Spanish, Portuguese or German is a plus.

MS Office: You have a good command of the MS Office package, especially Excel.
