The Implementation Security Group of the Department of Computer Science at Technical University Darmstadt has three vacancies to be filled as soon as possible as


Research assistants (all genders):

for a limited period of 3 years. The position is classified according to pay group 13 of the TU Darmstadt collective agreement (TV-TU Darmstadt).

The
Implementation Security Group is one of the core groups of the
Department of Computer Science at
TU Darmstadt. The group was founded in August 2023 under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Amir Moradi. The research focus of the group is on the security of cryptographic implementations.

A large part of the research is dedicated to hardware security, protection against physical attacks (side-channel analysis and fault injection attacks), security analysis of real systems, especially the Internet of Things, and efficient hardware and software implementation of cryptographic primitives.

This includes various implementation platforms such as ASICs, FPGAs and microprocessors.

The tasks include activities in teaching (supervision of Bachelor's and Master's theses) as well as in research within the framework of a doctorate, in particular:

  • in the field of cryptographic implementations in hardware and software,
- physical security and
- side-channel analysis attacks.

In addition, the group's tasks also include coordinating of third-party funded projects from public or private clients, e.g. DFG or BMBF, as well as support with other tasks of the group, such as the organization of scientific conferences or the preparation of research proposals (e.g. to the DFG or the EU).

A very good Univeristy Science degree (M.Sc. or Diploma) in a relevant scientific university program (e.g. IT security, computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or mathematics) and a good command of English are required.
