What we are looking for:


We are currently looking for a dynamic
Head of Risk (Parental Leave cover) (f/m/div) for our office in
Berlin or
London (partial home office / remote work possible).

If you are passionate about covering the financial needs of exciting, innovative and fast-growing tech and media companies from around the world, and eager to learn from industry experts, this is for you.


While initially a 12-month Parental Leave cover, there exists the possibility of contract extension or transitioning into another full-time role within Vane.


What will keep you challenged?:

Risk Oversight: Oversee the structuring, assessment, and approval of Vane's risk positions.

Lending Process Leadership: Lead the end-to-end customer lending process, emphasizing the digitalization of the credit process.

Refinancing and Compliance: Actively participate in the refinancing of the customer portfolio and ensure compliance with documentation.

Team Leadership: Recruit, develop, and nurture the Risk, and Legal team.

Product Development:Play a pivotal role in developing new financing products and provide risk-focused advice.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other business units, shaping and advancing the company's strategy.

Mission Advancement: Contribute to the company's mission, promoting revenue, profitability, and strong growth.


What will make you succeed?:

Industry Experience: 5+ years of finance industry experience, preferably in investment or commercial banking/lending.

Credit Underwriting Expertise: Expertise in developing and setting credit underwriting processes, incorporating traditional and non-traditional data.

Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and decision-making skills with a structured and detail-oriented working style.

Leadership Skills: Leadership experience with the ability to coach junior team members.

Tech Affinity: Affinity to technology and a keen interest in staying updated on underwriting technologies.

Entrepreneurial Mindset: Entrepreneurial mindset, capable of managing risk within a commercial context.

Adaptability: Ability and interest in working in a fast-paced, international, start-up environment.

Financing Experience: Experience with invoice/receivables financing is advantageous.

Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills in English (German language skills are a plus).
