The Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, Faculty of Natural Sciences III, Institute of Geosciences and

Geography, Chair of Sedimentary Systems and Resources, invites appplications for the following position,

starting on 1 September 2024 and initially limited to 3 years:
Research Assistant / Postdoc (f-m-d)

as full-time employment.

The salary will be up to pay group 13 TV-L, if the personal requirements and tasks are fulfilled.

Tasks:

Working on scientific questions in the broad discipline of sedimentary systems
Organizing and teaching courses and excursions in sedimentary geology and related disciplines
Cosupervision of BSc, MSc and PhD students in the research group
Dissemination of research results in conferences and peerreviewed scientific journals
Participation in the realization, implementation and administration of research projects

The possibility of further scientific qualification is given.

Requirements:

Completed university degree (Diploma or MSc) and doctorate in geosciences or related disciplines
Indepth knowledge of sedimentary systems: siliciclastic and/or carbonates and/or evaporites
Expertise in sedimentological methods (at least a few): logging, 3D models, remote sensing, sedimentary

petrology and geochemistry grain-size analysis, experimental studies, seismic interpretation or similar

Fluency in spoken and written English and German
