Under the direction of the Senior Director HR, the
HR Business Partner manages all HR aspects of business partnership for the assigned client group in a trustful and solution-oriented collaboration.

The HR Business Partner is an expert in all areas of Human Resources fields and has experience in aligning global programs such as Talent Acquisition, Workforce Planning, Performance Management, Talent Planning, Employee Engagement to local culture, life-cycle and law.

The HR Business Partner is also change champion for his respective areas of responsibility.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Advise and support an assigned population of business leaders on all strategic HR topics like workforce planning and team effectiveness.
  • Translates business strategy and organizational needs into solutions for organizational design, talent management and culture change.
  • Incorporates business priorities of their leaders into relevant People Strategy and monitors the effectiveness through the use of metrics and analytics.
  • Proactively and respectfully challenge, influence and coach management on their human resource and other strategic decisions and actions.
  • Partner with national and international HR colleagues on crossfunctional initiatives and projects to implement and evolve HR programs and policies.
  • Close collaboration with works council and lead in works council negotiations in Austria.
  • Manage change with strong people, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Manage conflict in a sensitive and trustful manner and highest professionalism.

Skills/Knowledge Required:


  • Strong identification with BMS values.
  • Degree in HR, Business, Laws or related study fields.
  • Profound HR Generalist experience including project management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence amongst different levels, functions and geographies.
  • Experience in pharmaceuticals being an advantage.
  • Fluent in German and English.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated client leadership as a business partner.
  • Project Management skills.
  • Strong solutionorientation and pragmatism.
  • A quick thinker with a positive mindset.
  • Strong teamplayer.


Based on your function, department or individual position, you will have the opportunity to discuss with your Manager the
option to work remotely up to 50% of the time, over a two-week period, with the flexibility to choose the days that align with your collaboration needs.
