About the team


Group Audit (GA) serves as Deutsche Bank's independent 'Third Line of Defense', proactively assisting the bank's business and infrastructure areas to identify control weaknesses.

Comprising around 700 staff, our global connectivity provides a stimulating environment and the opportunity to collaborate, network and share knowledge with colleagues and specialists around the world.


The GA Non-Financial Risk Management (NFRM) and Chief Risk Office - Chief Operating Office (CRO COO) team is responsible for developing a risk-based and global audit plan covering Non-Financial Risk including new product and transaction approval processes, reputational risk, and the broader operational risk framework (e.g.

risk appetite, consequence management, findings management and control framework).


In addition, the team is responsible for the audit coverage of specific components of NFRM such as Security Risk Management, Transaction Processing Risk and Information Security Risk Management; as well as Risk Data Aggregation and Risk Reporting (BCBS 239) as part of the CRO COO.


Your key responsibilities

  • Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls relating to risks involved in the relevant areas in accordance with Group Audit Methodology and the established risk assessment framework
  • Lead and participate in audit activities as required. Complete all assigned audit work (e.g. planning, fieldwork, finding validations) in line with agreed budgets and document in accordance with divisional standards. This includes agreeing exceptions noted with stakeholders and drafting of high quality impactful audit findings
  • Provide Principal Audit Manager (PAM) / audit lead updates on progress, escalates problems/delays, support ad hoc projects
  • Proactively develop and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues (locally and globally), stakeholders and respective support areas
  • Support adhoc projects including regulatory requests and/or other GA initiatives

Your skills and experiences

  • Professional credentials including degreelevel education and a relevant Risk or Accounting professional qualification
  • Knowledge of auditing standards and concepts. Direct experience as an auditor or controls function, minimum five years
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, oral and written English, together with strong presentation and interactive skills
  • Understanding of risk management and control frameworks in a global banking control environment. Experience covering nonfinancial risk topics preferred
  • Very good analytical, problem solving, relationship management and presentation skills combined with the
ability to work in virtual, global teams in a matrix organization. Understanding of risk management and control frameworks in a global banking control environment.
