Our employees conduct research in the fields of energy, environment, safety, health, communication and mobility.

In our team «Functional Materials» we are working on the production of silica aerogels. We would like to use these for H2-storage at ambient temperature and at pressures below 3.5 MPa.

For this purpose, not only the pore structure of the aerogels has to be tailored, but also the inner surface of the pores has to be optimized.

What you will do

Manufacture of suitable aerogels and their modification
Characterization of the aerogels
Measurement of adsorption isotherms of different solvents
Close exchange with a cooperation partner
Evaluation of the H2 absorption of the aerogels

What you bring to the table

Studies in the field of chemistry, chemical engineering, process and environmental technology or mechanical engineering
Ideally, interest in laboratory or pilot plant work
Enthusiasm to explore a new field of research
High level of teamwork, ambition and reliableness
Good communication skills as well as a systematic and independent way of working
