    Job Description

    We are offering an exclusive opportunity for a talented and ambitious master's student. Join our optics team at the corporate research sector of Bosch and drive the technological advancement for novel holographic optics. The project aims to harness the principle of holography and wave front printing to realize novel elements for sophisticated optical setups.

    • As a master thesis researcher, you will be an integral part of our dynamic team of researchers and industrial PhD candidates.
    • You will conduct in-depth literature reviews on recent holographic optics and related technologies.
    • You will design and simulate novel holographic optical elements, tailored to specific applications.
    • Furthermore, you will realize sophisticated holographic optics by a novel holographic wave front printing concept.
    • Gain hands-on experience by working closely with our experimental team to realize and validate the proposed designs in a laboratory setting.
    • Last but not least you will work on the interface of academic and corporate research, by presenting your results in a thesis and ideally a joint scientific publication.

    Qualifications

    • Education: master studies in the field of Photonics, Optics, Physics, Electrical Engineering or comparable
    • Experience and Knowledge: strong background in optics, photonics, or a related discipline, familiarity with simulation tools (e.g., Zemax, VirtualLab Fusion) and programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB), hands-on lab-experience with lasers and free-space optics is a plus
    • Personality and Working Practice: excellent communication and teamwork skills
    • Enthusiasm: for exploring new ideas and pushing the boundaries of optical technologies
    • Languages: good in German or in English

    Additional Information

    Start: according to prior agreement
    Duration: 6 months
