We are expanding our Global Project and Event Operations team and looking for a Head of Event Operations with strong esports, project or event operations experience to join us on shaping the journey of esports


You will play a pivotal role by being responsible for all the planning and execution of all DreamHack's European festivals and events from early-stage development of budgeting and defining concepts, to event logistics and on-site event operations oversight and everything in between.

What you'll do:

The Head of Event Operations & Logistics will have 4 main pivotal key responsibility pillars:

Lead and manage the Event Operations Department

  • Direct staff responsibility for everyone in the Event Operations Department at EFG Germany, including Event Managers;
  • Responsible for recruiting both internal and external resources to build a scalable department;
  • Allocate and delegate tasks to direct reports, keeping in mind both highquality delivery, workload, and budget limitations;
  • Develop and implement workflows to streamline events and tournaments across EFG operations, including creating processes on how to work with both internal and external stakeholders.

Event Operations

  • Ensure that the department delivers event construction and equipment according to requirements from internal and external stakeholders;
  • Manage and sustain a pool of freelancer in order to create a scalable operation;
  • Make sure to collect requirements and vision internally and execute on the quality expected of internal stakeholders;
  • Maintain existing and negotiate with new potential suppliers for both equipment and staff in the area of event operations, both local and international.

Budget & budget planning

  • Assist with budget planning to ensure reasonable workloads for staff and recruit contractors as needed
  • Assist with budget planning when it comes to event execution
  • Staging and equipment
  • Construction of events and logistics
  • Purchase and supplier responsible

Responsible for local supplier relationships within event operations

  • Find new suppliers;
  • Manage relationships with current suppliers;

What you'll need:


Must have

  • Previous experience of directly managing a team of at least 5 staff (2+years);
  • Exceptional project management experience with a proven methodology;
  • Strong negotiating and analytical skills;
  • Ability to work within an environment of frequently changing priorities (does not get flustered by changes and lastminute issues);
  • Ability to be proactive and problemsolving, and able to delegate and oversee teams working independently;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships across geography, function, and seniority;
  • Strong ability to supervise experienced vendors;
  • High level of professionalism, diplomacy, and integrity;
  • Ability to work flexible and/or extended hours as needed;
  • Ability to travel and be abroad;
  • Fluent with Google Documents, Microsoft Word & Excel;
  • Fluent in English;

Nice to have

  • A passion for Esports or large Events, Tournament Operations;
  • Previous knowledge/familiarity with pure products
  • ESL&DreamHack;
  • Resilient and organized, comfortable with festival operations and the challenges that comes with it from A-Z;
