Job Description:

The Head of Operations is responsible for leading the operations function including production, supply chain, commodity and purchasing.


Main responsibilities are:

  • Ensure timely, qualitative and effective delivery of goods to clients.
  • Manage operations budget to ensure mínimal production cost and optimal product quality.
  • Review production processes and procedure to ensure they operate at highest possible efficiency.
  • Collaborate with health/safety managers to develop and implement safety policies for general plant operations.
  • Oversee the hiring and training of key staff to ensure a capable workforce.
  • Liaise with purchasing managers to develop and improve supplier relationship.
  • Grow team members through conducting employee performance appraisals to identify areas of limitation in order to provide coaching and guidance.
  • Optimize production process by eliminating wastes and other constraints to improve work efficiency.
  • Oversee the long term planning and initiatives geared towards enhanced operations.
  • Identify future threats and opportunities to further improve the production operations and overall efficiency of the site.
  • Prepare and submit to upper management regular reports of plant operations.
  • Maintain positive trust relationship with suppliers to ensure constant flow of required raw materials.
  • Utilize costbenefit analytical techniques in improving operational efficiency.

Qualifications:


Education:


  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, industrial engineering, industrial management, or in a related discipline + Master's degree in business administration or finance.
  • Proven track record in lean manufacturing principles and business process excellence.

Experience:


  • At least fifteen years of experience in a technology driven environment
  • Previous experience in leading Production or Supply Chain.
  • Capacity to assemble coalitions, build consensus, lead and develop staff.

  • Teamwork, impeccable ethical standards, ability to quickly adjust to change and to work under pressure.
  • Strong intercultural skills
  • Customer service orientation.
  • Outstanding written and oral communications skills.
  • Ability to manage a variety of projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to travel, both domestically and internationally.
