Your tasks:

TRIXTER is currently looking for Head of Pipeline to join our team.


With the global Cinesite pipeline team, Trixter Head of CG and Head of Studio, the Head of Pipeline determines and works towards achieving the smoothest possible workflows and a proper communication with the other departments.

Working closely with IT, Production and Finance, the HOPipeline is responsible for the pipeline vision in line with the studio's growth and project needs.

The Head of Pipeline is also responsible for day to day management of the Pipeline and Render Wrangling teams, mentoring and training the local team and, together with HR, using KPIs (key performance indicators) to set goals and give constructive feedback to staff.

On current Trixter projects and across the Cinesite group, the Head of Pipeline allocates department resources and indicates in a timely manner to upper management necessary changes regarding staff, software, artist tooling and workflows.


Responsibilities:


  • Manage and drive the design, implementation, and evolution of a standardized Pipeline.
  • Leads a team of Pipeline developers, Pipeline TDs, and Render Wranglers responsible for deploying, configuring, and supporting the Pipeline and related RnD efforts.
  • Successfully manages agile software projects in time and budget.
  • Works closely with the global Cinesite Pipeline Team, Head of CG, Supervisors and Technical Leads to ensure that the Pipeline meets the needs of the studio at large and diverges as little as possible while still meeting the needs of the individual projects.
  • Participates in the development of the technology strategy for the Cinesite Group
  • Liaise with Heads of Production Technology across the Group to ensure effective collaboration between all studios.
  • Communicates upcoming changes to all departments and ensure critical updates are sufficiently tested to minimize impact to production.
  • Works with Production and Technology Management to ensure adequate support coverage to meet the demands of all active projects.
  • Acts as an escalation point for Supervisors and Production Management to resolve pipeline and workflow issues.
  • Effectively manage software, research and development.
  • Implement creative and production software strategies.
  • Devise methods to increase efficiency and utilization to fit with global strategy.

  • Manages vendor relationships and software/technology acquisitions within the studio budget (in mutual w/IT and operations).
  • Represents the studio at vendor meetings/events (related to Pipeline topics).

Team Management:

  • Establishing and maintaining a professional working environment that fosters a strong work ethic and creates a positive work experience.
  • Training and mentoring department members.
  • Overseeing the onboarding process of new department members.
  • Escalation point for department HoDs, Cinesite domain chairs, and Head of CG to resolve conflicts.
  • Working closely with Recruitment and Human Resources to identify recruitment needs.
  • With the Head of CG and HR, assessing training and development needs for artists.

Accountabilities:


Ensuring project success by making sure show teams have the tools and workflows they need to deliver on time, within budget and to the highest possible standard.


  • Ensuring maximum efficiency of workflow procedures and tools together w/ IT.
  • Direct Reports from: Pipeline Team and Render Wranglers.
  • Direct Reports to: Head of Finance & Head of Studio.
  • Motivate the team through demonstrated leadership ability and executive presence.
  • Encourage collaborative team approach locally and globally.
  • Clearly establish performance expectations for direct reports.

Requirements:


  • BS in Computer Science or Computer Graphics or equivalent Industry experience required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in feature film on the postproduction side.
  • Experience managing software, pipeline, and/or technology teams.
  • Production experience with Maya, Katana, Houdini and/or Nuke, familiarity with relevant APIs.
  • Prior experience working with and developing on ftrack or other Production & Asset Management Systems.
  • Prior development experience with Python in a production environment.
  • Must be able to work in a collaborative, fastpaced environment.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
