The job:


The goal of the OperaSOS project is to operationalize the safe operating space concept for stream ecosystem functioning by accounting for the variation in agricultural land use intensity in catchments.

The project will combine field work with data analysis in a theory-driven approach to facilitate adaptive land use management of streams and rivers.

To support the data collection for this project, we seek a highly motivated student assistant (f/m/x).


Your tasks:


  • Synthesis of online available data (in German) and compilation in usable file formats
  • Supporting literature survey on agricultural land use impacts on stream ecosystems

Your profile:


  • Student status (either BSc or MSc) level in a natural sciences degree programme
  • Good German and English language skills
  • Experience working with large datasets is desirable, but not essential
  • General knowledge of agricultural land management practices and their impacts on stream ecosystems preferable
