Our profile
TU Dortmund University comprising 17 departments in the natural and
engineering sciences as well as the humanities and social sciences is a
dynamic university with a strong profile in research, teaching, promotion
of young scientists and transfer.

The Department of Spatial Planning is one of the largest institutions of
its kind in Europe and member of the UN Habitat program for
universities. Research and teaching are interdisciplinary.


Profile of the professorship
You represent the areas of planning control as well as spatial impact of
resource infrastructures and energy systems in research and further
develop these with international visibility. Your research focuses on at
least one of the areas of energy systems, the interaction of energy
systems with other grid-related infrastructures, planning and
governance of energy infrastructures, or resource management. In
doing so, you participate in research networks and cooperations within
and outside TU Dortmund University and are committed to promoting
early career researchers. In teaching, you are responsible for the
appropriately in the teaching activities of the department in English
and, in the medium run, in German. The willingness to supervise study
projects is expected.


Your qualifications
You have obtained a doctorate with above-average success and have
acquired a post-doctoral lecture qualification (Habilitation) or an
equivalent qualification. You have demonstrated your research
excellence in the field covered by the professorship through
international publications in recognized peer-reviewed venues. Your
research background is either in the engineering, planning or natural
sciences and you have experience in acquiring research funding.
Beyond this, the international visibility of your research and
international collaborations are expected. Additionally, you have the
potential for teaching excellence. Social and leadership skills and the
willingness to participate in academic self-administration complete
your profile. Moreover, the recruitment requirements in Sections 36 and
37 of the North Rhine-Westphalia Higher Education Act _(Gesetz über die _
