Faculty of Chemistry and Food Chemistry the


Chair (W3) of Organic Chemistry II
is to be filled as of
October 1, 2024.

You (M/F/x) will represent the entire field of Organic chemistry both in teaching and research. Your
research is expected to focus on an emerging field of preparative Organic chemistry such as (but not
limited to) modern photo
bioorganic and/or material chemistry. The chair should complement the existing research fields in
Organic chemistry at TU Dresden in a meaningful way and play a leading role in current strategic
initiatives of the Faculty of Chemistry and Food Chemistry as well as the university. In teaching, you
study programs. We expressly expect your willingness to actively participate in interdisciplinary
projects (e.g. CRC, graduate schools), in academic self-administration and to cooperate with non
- university research institutions based in Dresden. We expect your active participation in the research
areas of the Faculty of Chemistry and Food Chemistry with a special focus on biologically-oriented
chemistry, for example, but not limited to, the areas of photoswitching or photopharmacology,. In
addition, your active participation in existing research initiatives such as the CRC 1415 is desirable.

We require successful scientific activities with international visibility in the field of Organic chemistry.
We further expect comprehensive experience in teaching Organic chemistry, proven pedagogical
aptitude and success in third-party funding. Applicants must fulfill the employment qualification
requirements of - 58 of the Act on the Autonomy of Institutions of Higher Education in the Free State
of Saxony (SächsHSFG).
