Your role:


As a Senior Scientist Computational Oncology within the Research Unit Oncology, you will join a team of highly motivated scientists dedicated to discovering the cancer drugs of tomorrow.

You will analyze functional genomics data from externally and internally performed CRISPR screens as well as data from the public domain to generate novel drug target hypotheses and discover biomarkers directly supporting our Oncology projects and therapeutic concepts.

You will draw from your deep understanding of the underlying biology (such as DNA repair pathways in cancer), expertise in data analysis methods and robust coding skills.

Operating at the intersection of biology and data science, you will make complex datasets available to scientists without coding skills and contribute to the digital literacy within your department.

You will interact closely with the R&D bioinformaticians and work in cross-functional drug discovery teams as well as external collaborators.


Who you are:


  • PhD in Biology, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics or related discipline
  • Two years minimum postdoctoral research experience ideally in drug discovery in industry settings
  • Extensive handson programming experience for biological data analysis (R or Python) including maintenance of code quality and documentation (e.g. Git)
  • Handson experience analyzing and interpreting functional genomics screens and ideally experience with DNAseq analyses
  • Research experience in oncology and DNA damage response with publication track record preferred
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills
  • Excellent team player, eager to work in multidisciplinary teams
