The studies:

Der duale Bachelor-Studiengang "Kommunikation & Medienmanagement" richtet sich an alle, die einen kommunikations
- und medienspezifischen sowie international anerkannten akademischen Abschluss in Kombination mit einer betrieblichen Ausbildung absolvieren möchten. Durch die Vermittlung von fundiertem wirtschaftswissenschaftlichen und branchenspezifischen Know-how erhält der/die Studierende umfangreiches Fachwissen und erwirbt gleichzeitig wichtige Praxis
- und Berufserfahrung im Unternehmen. Die theoretischen Studieninhalte werden über speziell aufbereitete Studienhefte vermittelt und durch multimediale Vermittlungsformen, wie Online-Vorlesungen, Online-Tutorien oder Online-Übungen ergänzt. Ausgewählte Module sehen Präsenzphasen vor, die dem/der Studierenden wichtiges Praxiswissen vermitteln und den Austausch mit Branchenexperten sowie Kommilitonen ermöglichen.

  • Higher education entrance qualification (Abitur), technical college entrance qualification or an equivalent qualification
  • Selfstarter with superb written and oral communication and presentation skills in English.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • A demonstrable track record of personally identifying, cultivating and raising significant private and public funds for programmes from governments, foundations, private institutions and individuals
  • An ability to undertake frequent travel globally.
  • Excellent knowledge of the role of media as a key component of civil society.

Responsibilities:


  • Help swiftly develop and execute fundraising plans, from public and private sources.
  • Assist in supporting all aspects of the development department, including programme development, fundraising and marketing campaigns and identifying and managing international partnership opportunities
  • Work closely with the Director of Development to enhance outreach efforts and build donor bases.
  • Manage and execute projects globally across a range of initiatives and objectives.

Qualifications/experience:

Significant progressive, and proven, experience over three to seven years in successfully developing and managing all aspects of complex fundraising/development programmes, preferably in an international organization, including:

  • Developing fundraising strategies and successfully implement them.
  • Raising funds from governments, institutions, foundations and individuals.
  • Running successful project and annual campaigns.
  • Managing highprofile events.
  • Strategic thinker and planner, able to lead and engage in planning processes and set priorities; able to think critically, objectively and analytically.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of budgeting with income and expenditure budgets.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook essential.
  • Demonstrable project management skills.
  • Adept at crafting clear and persuasive proposals, donor correspondence and other promotional and marketing materials.
  • Experience building, or supervising, the creation and use of management tools, including databases and fundraising research engines.
  • Understanding of, and demonstrable experience in, webbased marketing to engage institutional partners and donors.
  • Keen eye, and knack, for leading the development of key partnerships to enhance and raise organizational profile.
  • Able to work under pressure and keep a good sense of humour.
  • Willingness, and ability, to travel nationally and internationally approximately 25% of their time.

"Plus" Qualifications:


  • Experience building viral marketing campaigns to attract donors.
  • Adept at working with social media tools to conduct innovative outreach campaigns.
  • Demonstrable working knowledge of communications principles and practice.
  • Fluency in another European or Asian language preferred.
  • History working with nonprofit advocacy organizations, particularly international media and/or human rights.
