Your tasks:
You lead basic development, feasibility studies, prototype construction as well as testing and validation internally and with customers.
Technology screening, generating ideas for innovative product features with a focus on user benefits are also part of your tasks. You maintain the network in the research landscape and supervise funded projects.
In cooperation with product management, you will make a significant contribution to the technology roadmap for the next few years, be responsible for and support our laboratory areas for research and plan the budget.
You assume disciplinary responsibility for the employees of the research group (currently 20), develop your team, design and continuously improve methods, processes and interfaces, conduct appraisal interviews, plan training courses.
You report to the Global Head of Innovation, you are a member of the European management team and the global management team of innovation.

Your qualification:

Several years of experience in industrial research and development, relevant track record
Experience with relevant light technologies (such as UV gas discharge lamps, IR radiators, analytical lamps, LED technology)
Several years of management experience, ideally in an international environment, as well as experience in project management
Experience in dealing with customers desirable
German/English business fluent in spoken and written
