The German Institute of Development and Sustainability gGmbH (IDOS) in Bonn is one of the leading research institutes on development policy.

Through excellent research, policy advice and training, the Institute contributes to finding solutions to global challenges.

Within IDOS, the Programme "Environmental Governance and Transformation to Sustainability" examines different strategies for the protection of the global climate, the environment and natural resources and scrutinizes the extent to which they meet the transformative requirements of the Paris Climate Agreement and the 2030 Agenda.

It analyses the interactions between relevant actors and institutions of global and multi-level environmental governance, focusing on the legitimacy of governance mechanisms and their effects on ecosystems and human welfare, with an empirical focus on developing countries and emerging economies.

To strengthen the Programme "Environmental Governance and Transformation to Sustainability" we are looking for a

Research Assistant
to start as soon as possible, likely as of to with a possibility of extension).

Tasks:

Support literature reviews and deskbased data collection
Support data analysis, e.g. by transcribing interviews, coding interviews or documents, etc.
Support other activities, e.g. organisation and implementation of events, data visualization, publication.

Requirements:

Data collection and organization skills
Proficiency with MS Office package
Experience with literature management programs (e.g. Endnote) and data analysis software (e.g. / MaxQDA, SPSS / R, GIS,) is an advantage
Fluency in English is required; fluency in German is considered a plus
Experience in scientific writing and literature review is desirable.
