The Role

Moderna is searching for a Senior Director who will be responsible for supporting HEOR activities for Moderna's broad portfolio, with a focus on COVID-19 vaccines.

This role will lead the development and execution of strategies for evidence generation, data analysis and dissemination, and engagement with thought leaders, for the COVID-19 vaccine franchise.

You will have the unique opportunity to help shape our development strategy, as opposed to working with inflexible development paths.

You will synthesize work across our scientific, clinical, and commercial groups into a coherent plan to develop vaccines that have a positive population impact across the broad healthcare system, as well as establish and communicate the value of the vaccines that Moderna develops to protect populations.

Here's What You'll Do

Contribute to the design, implementation and management of HEOR studies from concept through publication. HEOR studies may include retrospective database analysis, economic models, prospective research studies, patient-reported outcomes, and payer-focused tools.

Lead the design of health economic models that can be used to expain the value of Moderna vaccines to various stakeholders.

Collaborate with cross-functional product teams at every stage of development through launch.

Partner with the broader vaccines commercial team in presentations to senior internal stakeholders, including our executive committee, and external stakeholders.

Work closely with other functions including research and development strategy, epidemiology, regulatory, policy, and medical affairs on the development on programs that support broad access and value.

Deliver best-practice project management oversight for all research and study-related activities.

Understand the payer landscape and develop networks to engage with thought leaders who can provide input to guide Moderna programs.

Represent Moderna at meetings where HEOR discussions and data are required.

Be a key player in building HEOR capabilities within Moderna's vaccines commercial organization, in partnership with newly formed teams that will blaze trails in new markets and grow Moderna at an accelerated pace.

Comply with corporate policies and procedures as well as all applicable healthcare laws and regulations.
Here's What You'll Need (Minimum Qualifications)

Minimum of a Master's degree in Public Health, Health Services Research, Economics, Epidemiology, Health Policy, or a related discipline.

10+ years of progressive excellence with HEOR, with a successful track record of building and executing high-value-add research agendas, in the academia or industry

Experience in vaccines / infectious disease modeling

Experience with HTA / NITAG submissions in multiple countries

Peer-reviewed manuscripts published in scientific journals, including economic evaluations

Demonstrated experience using real-world evidence and comparative effectiveness for health policy decision-making and a high degree of digital fluency are preferred

Here's What You'll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)

Doctorate preferred

Best-in-class examples of leadership in HEOR that has created incremental value across the ecosystem to support market-leading access, defending value from pricing pressures and provided brand differentiation in the face of competition

Keen understanding of the drug development and regulatory approval process, and of health policy and health care system stakeholders (e.g., managed care, public sector payers, emerging models of care) for vaccines

Ability to collaborate with stakeholders from a range of key areas, including medical affairs, field team, marketing, communications, physician, trade and consumer channels, pricing and contracting, government payers

Passion and ambition to excel in a critical role where developing strategies that explain and defend the value for a new scientific platform will be essential

Excellent communication, presentation, collaboration and influencing skills across internal and external stakeholders

A desire to make an impact as part of a high-growth, transformational company that is Bold, Relentless, Curious, and Collaborative.
