We are looking for an
European Head of Order Management based anywhere in Europe, preferably Hamburg, Germany.


Job Purpose


As part of the OMS Business team, you provide leadership in the Europe Region for all aspects of the business; Financial-budgeting, Business Development, Service Delivery, Operations, Information Technology, Human Resources, Customer and Project implementation to drive profitability and contribute positively to the OMS and DHL growth and bottom line.

  • Ensure policies, practices and procedures are understood and followed by direct reports, customers and stakeholders.
  • Problems faced may be difficult and typically complex.

Key Tasks

  • Drive new and incremental profitable business by identify and actively target Europe based customers who would utilize OMS & OCM products.
  • Develop longterm supply chain strategies and seek costsaving opportunities by using DHL OMS product and services.
  • Supports Global OMS & OCM business development in rolling out products across Europe region.
  • Build/maintain sustainable relationships with potential and current customers.
  • Create correct operational infrastructure to maintain and develop the regional account base & services.
  • Identify and develop new market segments.
  • Develop end to end supply chain solutions for existing and new customers across sectors, business units and geographies.
  • Ensure timely responses to customer RFI, RFQ, Tenders & provide pricing guidance / approval.
  • Strengthen the Business Development, Operations and Service Delivery teams to increase customer profitability through new value propositions.
  • Ensures alignment Regional sector strategies with specific focus on the OMS & OCM products.
  • Provide regional sales plan and strategies to Global OMS management for budgeting and goalsetting.
  • Measure and improve the service standard by appropriate key performance indicators.
  • Help develop new service offerings (value added services) and productize them for sales to customers.
  • Close monitoring on regional Sales and operational KPI achievement.
  • Ensure internal customers' request (including account creation or modification, update of contracts & charges) are handled in a timely manner / based on agreed SLA.
  • Determines organization structure, roles and responsibilities, performance targets for functions.
  • Develops a culture of quality, service excellence (for internal customers), flexibility and cost consciousness.
  • Manages the allocation of appropriate resources and commitment of staff to the achievement of Global, Regional and Country objectives / targets.
  • Identifies training needs and opportunities to develop highly skilled functional departments.
  • Manages Managerial Development & Succession Planning (MDSR) and relevant DHL HR development tools.

Management Responsibility

  • Lead (directly or indirectly) multiple teams or individuals on equal or lower levels.
  • Develop short to longterm (15 years) plans for optimizing the organization, function, or jobfamily and the talent required to execute strategies.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in Logistic mainly in Operations and or Ocean Freight.
  • Very High level of Influencing skills to be used externally and internally.
  • Ability to develop and communicate (internally and externally) complex and integrated commercial solutions.
  • Experience in operating and developing business at all points of the international end to end supply chain.
  • Substantial knowledge of all supply chain products
  • Origin, Freight, DC, Transport, Visibility Systems, Contract Logistics (DC and Transport) operations.
  • Excellent Commercial Negotiator at Senior Management.
  • Understand Market Characteristics and Dynamics across Sectors / Countries.
  • Ability to develop operational partnerships within DHL and with external parties.
  • English Speaking (Fluent or Mother Tongue).
