We at the "Production Engineering of E-Mobility Components" (PEM) chair of RWTH Aachen University research and develop product and production innovations that enable the manufacture of electrified drivetrains and their individual components in a cost-effective and sustainable manner.

Together with our partners from industry and research, we develop solutions for the mobility of the future - from the

Research group "Electric Drive Production" (EDP)

PEM's research group "Electric Drive Production" contributes to the economic, variant-flexible, future-oriented and sustainable production of the electric drive and its active components, the rotor and the stator.

From the implementation of strategic consulting projects to the investigation of specific, technical issues in the laboratory, the team is dedicated to almost every topic in the field of electric drive production.

You will work closely with executives and employees of leading OEMs, automotive suppliers, machine and plant manufacturers as well as with other renowned industrial partners in multiple, challenging

Your Profile:

You have a successfully completed university degree (Master or comparable) in the technical field (e.g. mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering).
Ideally, you have already gained some practical experience in the field of consulting, development, production or electric mobility.
You have the selfdemand to develop new topics and you use creative freedom.
You work in a structured and binding manner, you think creatively and pragmatically, you are curious and motivated to always learn something new.
You have a high willingness to travel and you are flexible.
You speak and write German and English fluently.

Your Duties and Responsibilities:

You play a decisive role in shaping projects with industry partners from acquisition through planning to execution (e.g. in production and process planning, prototyping, and strategy development in the field of electric mobility).
You investigate exciting issues in the fields of "emotor production" (stator, rotor, entire drivetrain).
You develop prototypes and new manufacturing as well as test procedures within the framework of research and industrial projects.
You supervise students in their final theses and you conduct courses.
You are given budget and management responsibility at an early stage and you can shape topics on your own responsibility.

What We Offer:

The position is to be filled at the earliest possible date and offered for a fixed term of three years.

An extension of at least one year is planned.

The fixed-term employment is possible as it constitutes one of the fixed-term options of the Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz (German Act on Fixed-term Scientific Contracts).

This is a full-time position.
The salary is based on the German public service salary scale (TV-L).
The position corresponds to a pay grade of EG 13 TV-L.
