Our team is looking for a new talent (M/F/d), starting at the earliest possible time as Buyer (M/F/d) in Leipzig including business travel to Griesheim (Darmstadt).

Fixed term contract due to maternity leave replacement


How you will add value


As Buyer at Azenta Life Sciences you will be responsible for the European procurement of materials across Genomics and SRS portfolio and managing all aspects of supply including negotiation and cost savings.


You will manage Azenta relationships with global suppliers, including weekly production planning reviews, monthly and quarterly business reviews as well as communicating the business vision and working with the suppliers to achieve the goals.


What you will do

  • Procurement of all products, managing all aspects of materials supply.
  • Negotiation of timely prices.
  • Driving purchasing savings.
  • Responsibility for supplier management.
  • Ensuring products are delivered to promise and request dates.
  • Identifying and managing supply chain risks, communicate with internal and external stakeholders to mitigate risks.
  • Problem solving demand issues.
  • Driving initiatives and continuous process improvement to help the team to become more efficient and effective.
  • Generating internal management reports for purchasing team.
  • Participation in Kaizen events and continuous improvements sessions.
  • Working location will be our office in Leipzig, whilst working together in an international team.
  • Close cooperation and communication with Logistics, Product Management, Planning, Purchasing, Finance and Quality.

What you will bring

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, APICS certification (CPIM) preferred.
  • Practical experience of purchasing demand /production planning within a manufacturing environment.
  • Expert capability in modern sourcing principles.
  • Experience with Lean / Continuous Improvement teams and activities.
  • Expert understanding of Oracle (or similar) MRP based planning system.
  • Proficient user of MS Office (Excel, Power Point, Word, etc)
  • Abilities to handle multiple competing priorities for multiple projects.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills at all levels of the organization.
  • Confidentiality to people outside the organization.
  • A true sense of urgency.
  • Ability to analyse cost effectiveness and make sound commercial / business decisions.
  • Business fluent in English and German.
