Responsibilities:
- Own, draft, and maintain the IT Security policy framework with regard to data protection, including the underpinning standards and guidelines
- Oversee the adherence to regulatory requirements and current legislation and assure compliance in how they are reflected in internal policies and standards
- Intake data protection concerns from stakeholders and collaborating with IT security and privacy to drive data protection controls and mechanisms
- Oversee and manage data protection activities and projects to ensure timely completion and quality in alignment with regulatory requirements
- Ensure and perform assessments of data protection processes and services on a regular basis and assess for compliance against the organization's policies and standards
- Closely collaborate on outstanding regulatory issues by liaising with risk management
- Maintain and gather expertise on stateoftheart cyber security as well as data protection trends and technologies to be leveraged for the mitigation of future security exposures
- Raise cyber awareness among employees within the organization.
- Lead, motivate, develop, and appraise team members so that their individual and collective performance is of the required standard and meets the current and future needs of the business
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Cyber Security, Information Security, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Management, Information Sciences, Business Administration or related (or equivalent and related experience preferred)
- Several years of experience in data protection
- Multiple years of experience working with IT Security policy frameworks, standards and guidelines
- Several years of experience with IT privacy (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, etc.).
- Strong expertise in risk management and regulatory requirements
- Several years of experience leading teams, preferably teams across various nations
- Experience working across multiple geographies (or equivalent and related experience preferred)
- Demonstrable critical thinking
- Detail orientated way of working
