What you will do:


The Finance Director (FD) will in general be responsible for all financial activities of the two German offshore windfarms Nordsee One and Northland Deutsche Bucht.

The FD, in its role as statutory director, will share its responsibility for all company activities and the overall leadership of the two offshore wind farms with the Technical Managing Director.

You will be part of the Northland Business Unit Offshore Wind and a senior member of the Finance pillar.

Key Responsibilities

  • Together with the Technical Managing Director lead the project and represent the project to all its stakeholders, mainly the Project Sponsors and Lenders.
  • Developing, improving, and maintaining financial systems and (financial) reporting procedures as required and to be fully compliant with local law and (shareholders) requirements.
  • Responsible for the preparation of the Financial Statements and financial reporting in a timely fashion and in accordance with IFRS and local GAAP.
  • Maintaining relationships with the Project(s) banks and other financial institutions.
  • Administering the existing project financing.
  • Responsible for coordinating any new project finance efforts with all involved (incl bridging to shareholders).
  • Maintaining contacts with the auditor and the auditors of the shareholders.
  • Primary responsibility for shareholder consolidation reports as required.
  • Ensuring data integrity and accuracy in all reporting and ensuring that appropriate internal controls are in place and consistently applied.
  • Developing and leading a team of people in the finance and controlling department.
  • Maintaining, improving and further developing of the accounting software (Workday)
  • Managing and helping to deliver the budgets, forecasts and strategic plans for the company.
  • Responsible for setting up and maintaining any Project Financial Model.
  • Providing daytoday commercial decision support to maximize financial performance.
  • Preparing financial elements of management and progress reports, annual budgets and updated budgets, cash flow reporting, tax, etc.
  • Coordinating timely and accurate tax filings and maintaining contact with the tax authorities on behalf of the Company
  • Responsible for all aspects of finance in general (tax, treasury, accounting, reporting, planning & control, budgeting, financing, etc.)
  • Build good relationships with other parts of the business and bridge the interests and requirements of the different disciplines within the companies
  • Setting up solid Compliance Assurance system

Qualifications and experience:

  • 10+ years' experience in different areas of financial management
  • Experience in financial management of a large organization, preferably in large (renewable) projects
  • University degree and MBA or Chartered accountant preferred
  • Ability to prioritise effectively, excellent organizational and administrative ability;
  • Good team player and used to work in international teams
  • Strong communication skills on all levels, in particular towards shareholders and lenders;
  • Experience with project financing and the related reporting requirements
  • Experience with IFRS and German GAAP
  • Fluent in German and English
