Purpose of the Job


The Remarketing Service Representative (RSR) is responsible to support all processes and activities to manage assets of distressed finance contracts.

This includes all activities to locate, to repossess, to store and to administer the final sale of returned vehicles.

The RSR is furthermore involved in the tasks to determine Fair Market Values (FMV) of trucks/construction machines and to provide in this regard guidance to other departments like Underwriting.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Collections Department to locate not voluntary returned trucks/construction machines and to initiate adequate actions to repossess these assets into safe harbour.
  • Instruct and liaise with external repossession agencies to repossess trucks/construction machines within appropriate time and to monitor their ongoing activities.
  • Deal with situations of vehicles under pledge of third parties and if necessary find with support of the Collections Manager/ Legal workable solutions to get VFS assets released from pledge.
  • Prepare all legal documents related to repossessed assets if necessary.
  • Liaise with authorities, lawyers, insolvency receivers and other institutions to solve potential conflicts
  • Built up market channels and network within own VT/RT/VCE market organizations and external dealers/customers to achieve the best remarketing results
  • Instruct transportation companies to transport repossessed trucks/machines into safe harbour (VT/RT/VCE dealerships or other appropriate storage); if needed to support activities to find alternative storage sites.
  • Ensure that repossessed trucks will be deregistered from road traffic and that On-BoardUnits (OBU) will be removed after repossession.
  • Instruct independent experts/appraisers to determine Fair-MarketValue and potential damages
  • Review incoming appraisals to ensure that assessments made incl. FMV are sound; followed by a recommendation which remarketing channel to be used in order to achieve the best remarketing price possible to minimize potential VFS losses
  • Review incoming invoices for repossession costs (e.g. repossession agencies, legal fees, appraiser, storage fees, deregistration costs etc.) and initiate after approval timely payout
  • Assists to prepare, refurbish, maintain assets up to the level needed in the most efficient way
  • Use TIM-System (Truck Inventory Management) and other VFS Systems to ensure the appropriate management and reporting of returned assets within VFS

Skills & Education

  • University or equal degree preferred in engineering, Business or Marketing
  • Typically, a minimum of 7 years of experience in sales of financial products and/or commercial vehicles (new or used)
  • Ideally, but not a must: experience in trading used trucks/construction machines
  • Ideally, but not a must: knowledge of the technical specifications of trucks/constructions machines
  • Knowledge in the administration of vehicle financing contracts (Leasing, Mietkauf)
  • Knowledge of commercial vehicle and business solution market
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the used asset markets
  • Good knowledge and understanding of finance modelling and forecasting
  • Ability to understand contextspecifically implement the VFS EMEA strategy
  • Targetdriven, selfmotivated and willing to take responsibility
  • Resultoriented and driven by objectives, while building foundations for long term business relations
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills as well as holistic thinking
  • Strong communications skills Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact and influence at all levels both internally and externally
  • High standard of professionalism and operate with integrity (The Volvo Way)
  • High level of PC skills (MS Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Advanced level of English (oral/written)
