As an integrative research center, the Munich Institute of Robotics and Machine Intelligence (MIRMI) works on innovative and sustainable solutions for central challenges of our time.

To this end, MIRMI is to be expanded into one of the world's leading science and technology institutions in robotics, machine learning and artificial intelligence.

With its interdisciplinary orientation at the interfaces of engineering, natural sciences, IT, social sciences and humanities, MIRMI is a central component of the future strategy of Technical University of Munich.


Your tasks:


  • Strategic planning, implementation and control of the higherlevel software architecture work in the entire project, also taking into account functional safety
  • Definition and specification of interfaces between the planned factory systems
  • Technical analysis and evaluation of the project requirements
  • Specification of architectural and technical SW requirements
  • Supporting the development of a Central.
AI for the entire production environment

  • Contact person and troubleshooting within the consortium on software related topics, especially in the areas of (mobile) robotics, machine learning, production planning and control, design for manufacturing and assembly
- (Co-)development and integration of (industry) standards in the design of the software architecture

  • Definition of architectural quality requirements, e.g. architecture metrics, performance KPI, stability criteria
  • Conducting architecture coordination meetings with project management and researchers
  • Performing design and code reviews
  • Planning and implementation of the infrastructural integration into the future research lab at the Deutsches Museum
  • Own research possible within the scope of the project description

We expect from you:


  • Completed university studies (diploma, master, doctorate), ideally in a field of robotics and systems intelligence (computer science, engineering) or also in the fields of business informatics, industrial engineering or a comparable education
  • Several years of professional experience in the described areas of responsibility, preferably at a wellknown research institution or university or in industry
  • Enthusiasm for innovative digital technologies as well as interest in interdisciplinary scientific issues and their transfer to industry
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in German and English
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Aboveaverage ability to work independently, in a structured and resultsoriented manner
  • High level of problem solving skills, as well as teamwork, communication skills and flexibility
