Based on our mission of "impactful, agile auditing that really matters", Group Audit provides independent, objective assurance and consultation to internal clients, including audit committees, boards of management and senior leaders of business or corporate functions within the Group.


As part of Group Audit 1.2, you'll provide audit services to Munich Re's entities, spanning Primary Insurance to Life and Health Reinsurance, to assist senior management in the achievement of the company's strategic objectives.

As a trusted advisor, you will build effective relationships while contributing independent value-added assurance and recommendations across a wide variety of business processes.

Besides assurance you will provide impactful advice and recommendations through advisory reviews.

You will be located at our Munich headquarters but be part of a global team.


Your Job

  • Supporting internal audits as part of team, with a view to eventually performing these independently
  • Utilising audit tools and techniques which are the best fit for the topic, including defining, obtaining and analysing whole population datasets
  • Drafting audit findings, conclusions, and recommendations
  • Providing a risklevel grading for audit findings and recommendations
  • Taking ownership for monitoring the implementation of recommendations by stakeholders
  • Planning and conducting followup audits, where considered necessary, in order to evaluate the satisfactory completion of original audit recommendations
  • Developing relationships with stakeholders as agreed with the head of auditing
  • Gaining a deep understanding of the organisation
  • Supporting the lead in adhoc consultancy as requested
  • Keeping uptodate with internal and external regulations and internal audit best practice
  • Contributing to the continued development of the audit function

Your Profile

  • Two to three years of experience in primary insurance or reinsurance
  • University degree in economics, law, accounting or finance or equivalent qualification
  • Underwriting, claims, finance, accounting or audit experience is an advantage
  • CIA certification or the willingness to obtain it
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Selfmotivated, able to deal with changing priorities, willingness to take responsibility and to achieve highquality results in a constantly changing environment
  • Ability to prioritise and present complex topics in a concise manner as well as to see the bigger picture
  • Proficient in Office 365, experience with data analysis tools such as PowerBI as well as a basic understanding of IT systems is a plus
  • Strong written and spoken German and English, other languages are a plus
  • Willingness to travel
