Translator in the Science & Technology Wing.

Tasks

1\. Translation work, including of articles in Science & Technology and
Innovation
2\. Acquiring and compiling information about the latest developments in
Research and Innovation in Germany
3\. Handle technical equipments & have good understanding of IT hardware &
software.
4\. Interaction with S&T institutions, government departments, Universities and
other Research and Innovation organizations
5\. Coordinating/assisting in organizing visits of S&T officials, S&T
delegations, etc.
6\. Attending to official work delegated by the various scientific agencies of India
7\. General office work, assistance in administrative/ secretarial matters
8\. Any other task as directed from time to time

Requirements:

Essential Qualifications:

1\

Educational:
Bachelor's degree, preferably in Science, Technology,
Engineering and Medicine. Understanding of the Research and Innovation
landscape in India and Germany.

2\

Language proficiency:
B2 level proficiency in German. Excellent English
language skills
- both written and spoken.

3\

Residence status:
German / EU / Indian citizen (with valid work and
residence permit). Student Visa holders may not apply.

4\

Computer skills:
Proficient in MS Office and other similar tools.

5\

Social Media Skills:
Able to draft and post on social media and monitor social
media.

6\

Experience:
1-2 years' experience in a field relevant to the job description
would be desirable.

Dedication and flexibility, technical understanding, and Service oriented
Analytical and structured way of working with high level of reliability and
proactive approach
Communicative and friendly personality. Team spirit and intercultural
competence
Ability to multitask, work under pressure and handle increased workload

Benefits:

This is a purely temporary position, on a yearly contract, which is renewable.
Maximum 120 hours of work per month, with 30 hours of work per week.

Salary:
€21 per hour including COLA (If the employee works 120 hours in a
month, the earnings for the month would be 21 X 120 = 2520 Euro)
In addition to the gross pay, the Embassy will pay the employer's share of the
German Social Security package.
The remuneration package does not include any leave.
