Professorship (W3) in

Empirical Educational Research in

Primary and Secondary Education

Our profile

engineering sciences as well as the humanities and social sciences is a
dynamic university with a strong profile in research, teaching, promotion
of young scientists and transfer.


Profile of the professorship
The Center for Research on Education and School Development (IFS) is
a leading institute in the field of school and education research. The
professorship should have its own focus in the field of Empirical
Educational Research in Primary and Secondary Education. Therefore, a
research focus in an area of Empirical Educational Research in Primary
and Secondary Education is expected as well as the willingness to
participate in the further development of internal university, national
and international cooperation, interdisciplinary collaboration and the
continuous development of the IFS. You contribute appropriately in the
teaching activities of the department.


Your qualifications
You have obtained a doctorate with above-average success and have
acquired a post-doctoral lecture qualification (Habilitation) or an
equivalent qualification. You have demonstrated your research
excellence in the field of the professorship through outstanding, also
international, research experience and continuous national and
international publications in peer-reviewed journals. You have
successfully obtained competitively awarded third-party funding or
clearly indicate such potential through the acquisition of other third
- party funds for research projects. You are proven in adequate,
quantitative statistical methodology. Additionally, you have the
potential for teaching excellence. Social and leadership skills and the
willingness to participate in academic self-administration complete
your profile. Moreover, the recruitment requirements of Sections 36
and 37 of the North Rhine-Westphalia Higher Education Act _(Gesetz _
- über die Hochschulen des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen, HG)_ apply.
