Your mission:

Execute extraction/enzymatic hydrolysis of lignocellulosic biomass
Finetune/optimize hydrolysis parameters
Perform fermentation of lignocellulosic biomassderived extracts
Analyze results and discuss them with the supervisor
Prepare samples for analysis with HPLC, UV-Vis, GC-MS, etc.
Write SOPs and scientific reports to consolidate internal knowhow

Your profile:

Currently studying Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Bioprocess engineering, Biocatalysis, or equivalent
Strong interest in sidestreams biochemistry and extraction processes
Enthusiasm for working handson in the laboratory
Ability to work independently, establishing project milestones and reporting
You like to work effectively in a team environment
Creative, openminded personality with a precise, diligent, and dedicated working attitude that is keen to find outofthebox solutions
Not afraid to be inquisitive and believes that "there are no stupid questions"
Knowledge of Microsoft office package and other relevant software like DOE and Aspen would be a plus
Fluent English is required, (German is a plus)
