Your mission:


  • Execute extraction/enzymatic hydrolysis of lignocellulosic biomass
  • Finetune/optimize hydrolysis parameters
  • Perform fermentation of lignocellulosic biomassderived extracts
  • Analyze results and discuss them with the supervisor
  • Prepare samples for analysis with HPLC, UV-Vis, GC-MS, etc.
  • Write SOPs and scientific reports to consolidate internal knowhow

Your profile:


  • Currently studying Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Bioprocess engineering, Biocatalysis, or equivalent
  • Strong interest in sidestreams biochemistry and extraction processes
  • Enthusiasm for working handson in the laboratory
  • Ability to work independently, establishing project milestones and reporting
  • You like to work effectively in a team environment
  • Creative, openminded personality with a precise, diligent, and dedicated working attitude that is keen to find outofthebox solutions
  • Not afraid to be inquisitive and believes that "there are no stupid questions"
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office package and other relevant software like DOE and Aspen would be a plus
  • Fluent English is required, (German is a plus)
