Job Summary:

Black & Veatch has an opportunity for a Pre-Construction Project coordinator for projects in The Netherlands.

Performs engineering related pre-construction functions requiring knowledge and experience in engineering principles.


Authority to interpret technical requirements and provide solutions in conjunction with discipline Project Department Engineer and Discipline Superintendent, to provide drawings and data, and to direct work as assigned and consistent with Company's contractual commitments.

Typically assigned to project where the Company has a construction management role.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Establish area work priorities.
  • Interpret drawings and specifications.
  • Resolve problems to mitigate delays.
  • Monitor construction contractor progress.
  • Provide input to construction progress monitoring and reporting.
  • Enforce project work practices and project rules.
  • Provide input to project coordination meetings and schedules.
  • Provides technical direction/interpretation of design drawings and specification requirements, as well as general guidance to subcontractors on overall design.
  • Reviews, maintains records, and responds to Contractor Information Requests (CIRs) within discipline or as assigned for project.
  • Coordinates with Field
  • Monitors assigned subcontractor(s) for compliance with subcontract technical requirements.
  • Monitors discipline construction activities for compliance with schedule.
  • Prepares and issues all discipline extra work authorization requests (RFMPs/WAs) with the approval of the Project Field Manager.
  • Subcontract Administrator as needed.
  • Maintains a daily log for site record purposes.
  • Completes quantity takeoffs as required to support construction planning and invoice approval.
  • Reviews all subcontractor progress payment requests for acceptance.
  • Compiles and maintains Conformed to Construction Records drawing and list markups by discipline and assigned subcontractors.
  • Directs site document control activities for design documents.
  • Adheres to safety and quality standards as appropriate for level of duties and accountabilities.
  • Supports continuous improvement efforts and the change management effects associated with the implementation of improvements.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. Minimum of 1 year related work experience All applicants must be able to complete preemployment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Sitting/Standing/Computer-usage for extended periods of time. Listening/speaking. Ability to utilize video/audio conferencing software for internal/external communication purposes.
