We seek a skilled and passionate Data Scientist to join our talented data team and contribute to the development of AI models and algorithms that will drive our customer support service to new heights.
As a Data Scientist at SumUp, you will be responsible for building and optimising stateoftheart AI models and algorithms. Your expertise in machine learning, deep learning, and data analysis will be crucial in driving the success of our AIdriven initiatives. You will work closely with crossfunctional teams, including engineers, analysts and product managers, to translate business requirements into innovative AI solutions. Your contributions will shape the future of our products and help us stay at the forefront of technological advancements in the field of AI.

What you'll do:

Develop and implement AI models and algorithms to solve complex business problems, leveraging machine learning and large language models.
Contribute to the next generation of chatbots, defining performance evaluation and unsupervised learning.
Develop and implement ways to collect, clean and process large amounts of text data to ensure highquality input for model development.
Design and optimise AI models for scalability, efficiency and accuracy.
Partner with engineering and analytics to build impactful data products.
Identify business opportunities, and collaborate with stakeholders in tech to drive business automation.
Communicate complex technical concepts and insights to nontechnical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

You'll be great for this role if:

Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science or a related field. A Master's or PhD degree is a plus.

- +3 years of proven experience working as a Data Scientist. A strong focus on NLP and familiarity with large language models is a plus.

Solid understanding of machine learning techniques, highlighting unsupervised learning and reinforcement learning.
Excellent in Python and SQL and good software engineering practices to ensure high quality for your code. Pyspark is a plus.
Experience with AWS cloud platform.
Strong knowledge of Natural Language Processing, feature engineering and model evaluation techniques.
Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills, with strong attention to detail.
You have a working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English.
