In the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Institute of Structural Engineering - Geotechnical Engineering (Prof. Dr. -Ing. O. Reul), the following position is available as soon as possible:
:Research Assistant (m/w/d), EG 13 TV-H, temporary, full-time
(currently 40 hours per week)

36803The position is initially limited for 3 years with the possibility of extension for a further 2 years (qualification position according to
72 HHG in conjunction with
2 Abs. 1 Satz 1 WissZeitVG). The possibility of obtaining a PhD is provided.

Tasks:

Participation in research and teaching in the field of geotechnical engineering
Foundations under high cyclic overturning moments
Numerical simulation of displacement piles
Time dependent development of excavation and unloading processes in cohesive soils and their effects on neighbouring structures

Requirements:

Academic university degree in civil engineering completed with good to very good results. The required degree must be obtained by the recruitment date at the latest.
Excellent knowledge of geotechnical engineering
Experience in conducting and evaluating soil mechanical laboratory tests
Good to very good knowledge of German and English, both written and spoken
High level of commitment in supervising students
Particularly high motivation, independent working style and sense of responsibility

Advantageous are:

Good knowledge in the use of the FEM software ABAQUS, NUMGEO or Tochnog Professional
Good knowledge of structural engineering
Knowledge of the bearing behaviour of foundations under cyclic and dynamic loading
Knowledge of the numerical modelling of the material behavior of soil
Experience in conducting and evaluating geotechnical field and model tests
