ArianeGroup develops and delivers innovative and competitive solutions for civil launchers and has expertise in all aspects of advanced propulsion technologies.

ArianeGroup is the prime contractor for the European Ariane 5 and Ariane 6 launcher families and is responsible for both development and the entire production chain up to commercialization through its subsidiary Arianespace, as well as for the rockets of the French Oceanic Deterrent Force.


The Liquid Propulsion Department in Bremen (JTLF2) is responsible for upper stage functional propulsion system and fluid dynamics regarding cryogenic and storable propellants.

This includes the activities of Ariane 6 project perimeter as well as production support for Ariane 5 and MPCV Orion Space Craft.

Beyond the core business the department is in charge of future activities from hydrogen business, future upper stage propulsion systems and space logistics with storable propulsion systems.


For the department " The Liquid Propulsion Department (JTLF2)" at the location Bremen we are looking for a Future Propulsion System Engineering working student (f/m/d) to support us with immediate effect.

Your main tasks and activities:

  • General Propulsion System support including the associated predevelopments, predesigns and tradeoffs
  • Maturation incl. associated support of breadboard testing and evaluation activities
  • Support the modeling of systems / tool development / integration of tools via ADD-INs
  • Conduct performance analysis and fluid properties evaluation of rocket fuels as well as data base extensions
  • Assist the connection of tools and data bases for overall performance analysis in the frame of Phase 0/A studies

You have the following qualifications:

  • Registered student in the field of (aerospace) engineering or a comparable course of study, preferably in a master's degree
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering and/or AeroSpace Engineering with strong focus in data handling and coding of tools with Matlab and Excel VBA is mandatory
  • Knowledge in Propulsion System Modelling
  • Experience with tool development with Matlab and Excel including VBA or similar, data analysis and handling
  • Business fluent in written and spoken German and English
