Description

SAIC is seeking a qualified technician Modeling and Simulation (M&S) support for the US Air Force Agency for Modeling and Simulation (AFAMS) program in Kaiserslautern, Germany.

AFAMS is the premier agency responsible for implementation, integration, and development of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) and training and analysis standards that support the US Air Force (USAF), Department of Defense (DoD), and mission partners requiring these capabilities to support the Warfighter in full-spectrum operations.

As the lead agent for M&S within the USAF, AFAMS gathers requirements, seeks out potential solutions, and integrates legacy and emerging M&S solutions across the USAF and the DoD.

The USAF has an M&S initiative that focuses on providing simulation and synthetic training as the critical capability to augment live training, act as an enabler for critical decision-making, and enhance human performance.

In the current resource constrained environment, demand for M&S rises with the continuously evolving need for operational readiness and mission preparedness across the USAF, DoD, and with coalition partners.

AFAMS focuses on providing innovative M&S services as the key to meeting this demand.

The role of this position is to support the USAFE-AFAFRICA Warfare Center (UAWC) at Einsiedlerhof AS, Germany.

The M&S support technician will:

Provide M&S services and support for all federations, models, and systems in preparation for, during, and after events, including but not limited to training of augmentation personnel; testing; configuration management; functional/operational support; system integration; troubleshooting/debugging; system software and hardware support; and database development, modification, and maintenance (including but not limited to unit, terrain, visual and entity databases). As used herein, "events" refers to all activities that require M&S services or support to include but are not limited to exercises; mission rehearsals; threat, functional, operational, risk reduction and integration tests; and training missions and events.
Identify and submit innovative M&S solutions to enhance existing capabilities.
Provide M&S support and expertise in the following domain / mission areas (potentially at multiple locations/instances simultaneously):
Modern Air Combat Environment (MACE)
Next Generation Threat System (NGTS)
Virtual Reality Scene Generator (VRSG)
Command and Control (C2) / Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intel (C4I) including Joint Automated Deep Operations Coordination System (JADOCS), Theater Battle Management Core Systems (TBMCS), Tactical Data Analysis and Connectivity System (TDACS), Integrated Command and Control (ICC), and Air Defense System Integrator (ADSI)
Multi Source Correlator Tracker (MSCT) and associated systems including CRC Suite systems (Battlespace Command and Control Center
Air Force (BC3-AF), Control and Reporting Center (CRC-CSP), SRI, Doctor J, DIS Filter)
Hybrid Integration Virtual Environment (HIVE)
LVC Network Control Suite (LNCS)
MQ9 MJAT Stand Alone Trainer (MSAT)
F35 Effects-Based Simulator (EBS)
Advanced Simulation Technology Inc. (ASTi) Server (VOISUS)
Provide support for all models, maps, underlays, and terrain databases in preparation for, during, and after events to include, but not limited to, creating threedimensional (3D) terrain databases, and improving existing terrain databases and graphics.
Identify and submit innovative M&S solutions to enhance existing capabilities.
For the domain / mission areas identified above, prepare, coordinate, and present briefings and lead discussions with a wide range of audiences as requested by the Government.
Identify instructional requirements and support course development based on inputs provided by UAWC.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience or 13 years of experience in lieu of degree
Security + certification.
Expertlevel knowledge and experience in Next Generation Threat System (NGTS).
Familiar with: Multi Source Correlator Tracker (MSCT) and associated systems including CRC Suite systems (Battlespace Command and Control Center
Air Force (BC3-AF), Control and Reporting Center (CRC-CSP), SRI, Doctor J, DIS Filter)
Degree in Computer Science or a comparable computer related or IT degree.
10+ years of M&S and/or technical work experience. (Senior)
Highly proficient in and shall possess the necessary certifications and credentials needed to effectively operate the M&S feder
