Job Description Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Research Investigator. The SRI will function as the day-to-day lab manager, including supervising lab staff, help Postdocs and mentor students. Manage and coordinate daily work flow for assign research projects. Interface regularly with PI, visiting scientists and research collaborators regarding experimental design, progress and research findings. Troubleshoot any problems that may occur during a study. He/She will prepare manuscripts and written reports for publication and grant submissions. He/She will be asked to attend national and international meetings, regarding new tools and results of Microbiological research findings.

The SRI must have impeccable organization, verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. They must be able to work independently and exhibit good judgement. Experience working with research faculty from various disciplines is preferable.

  • Manage a large active laboratory, supervise lab staff and mentor students. Train new staff.
  • Manage and coordinate daily workflow for assigned research projects. Troubleshoot any problems that may occur during a study.
  • Coordinate and interact with industry collaborators and sponsors. Interface regularly with PI, visiting scientists and research collaborators regarding experimental design, progress and research findings.
  • Prepare manuscripts and written reports for publication and grant submissions
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:


  • PhD, and 5 to 7 years of post doctoral experience required.
Position contingent upon funding.
