Contract:
Full-time contract (40 h/week), initially fixed-term employment until 31 July 2025, extension possible (permanent contract)
In our secondary school about 415 students are learning and preparing for the Cambridge IGCSE and IBDP final exams.

Our excellent academic results benchmarked against the International Schools' Assessment and the IGCSE and IB Diploma international examinations, are proof of the quality education we provide at Leipzig International School.

The school is fully accredited by the Council of International Schools as well as the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

Provide an excellent educational programme by creating a safe and stimulation learning environment in which the students can discover and develop their intellectual, physical, social and creative potential
Promote the motto of our school "learning to be a citizen of the world", so that students develop the skills to think and act with openness to the perspectives, values and traditions of other cultures and communities, and thus develop an international understanding
Ensure a highquality education in Secondary School, embracing diversity as an essential part of the learning environment while ensuring equal opportunities
Collaboratively plan, deliver and assess work for your classes in parallel with other department members
Contribute to the work of the Sciene department and the Secondary School as a whole
Play an active role in a collaborative community striving for effective teaching for conceptual learning through guided inquiry, one in which students can not only gain outstanding academic results but also see their worth and value in the real world.

Your profile:

A degree in Physics or General Science
A valid teaching certification or qualification
Teaching experience in providing IB Diploma classes
Effective verbal and written communication skills as well as the use of IT and new technologies
Evidence of continuous professional development
Proven ability as an excellent classroom teacher
Experience of working in an internationallyminded and diverse school community is preferred
Experience with international curricula is preferred

Positive, encouraging and able to motivate students
