As a tertiary and quaternary level provider of medical care, the University Hospital of RWTH Aachen combines patient-oriented medicine and care, teaching and research at an international level.

The
Clinic for Psychiatry, Psychosomatics, and Psychotherapy of Childhood and Adolescence is seeking a

Postdoctoral researcher (f/m/d)


for the research area "Advanced signal analysis and artificial intelligence for neuroimaging and brain stimulation".


The position is a full-time fixed term position, according to the collectively agreed working hours (currently 38.5 hours per week) in a fixed term arrangement from October 01,2023 or later for 3 years, in accordance with the WissZeitVG (Academic Fixed-Term Contracts Act), with the option of extension.


Your tasks

Development of methods, execution of scientific studies, supervision of doctoral students

  • Supervision of qualification theses (STEM graduates, medical doctoral students, etc.)
  • Acquisition of thirdparty funding, management of thirdparty projects
  • Development of a methodological working group
  • Work in local, national and international scientific networks
  • Teaching activities

Your profile

  • Master's degree or diploma in neuroscience, natural sciences (e.g., physics, biology), or engineering, or computer science or psychology
  • Ph.
D. (completed or advanced)

  • Competencies in advanced signal analysis in the context of clinical neurophysiology and/or human imaging studies
  • Experience in human imaging (MRI) and/or clinical neurophysiology (EEG, MEG, TMS, brain stimulation)
  • Good programming skills (e.g., in MatLab, Python, or similar)
  • Foreign language competence, especially in English at least level B
  • Refereed international publications
  • Willingness (if applicable, experience) in the supervision of qualification theses
  • Experience in the acquisition of thirdparty funding
  • Commitment, curiosity, high social competence, enthusiasm and a good work ethic
  • Openness for new methods and topics
  • Interest in junior staff work
  • Ability to work in a team
