The
Health Economics group at the Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine in Hamburg is looking for a


Student assistant (M/F/d)
interested in religious norms, traditions and hygiene behavior.

Background:
We work on innovative and context-specific solutions to address global health challenges with a focus on tropical countries.

We aim to measure causal impact of health interventions and estimates its cost-effectiveness, test innovative public health services, and elaborates on the determinants of health behavior.

Currently, we are working on a research project that investigates the role of religious norms and traditions in explaining hygiene behavior.

As part of this project, we are searching for a student assistant that helps us with data collection and classification.

Your tasks:


  • Collection of hygiene norms and traditions of religious groups via literature searches (historical books, academic articles), internet searches, etc.
  • Systematic categorization and classification of those norms and traditions
  • Smaller administrative tasks possible

Required profile:


  • Student (M/F/d)
  • Background in religion, history, health sciences or social sciences or a related field
  • Strong interest in hygiene behavior or religious norms, habits, and traditions
  • Investigative spirit
  • Able to work independently and perform tasks accurately
