The Role:
The Coating Line Technician will lead all operation and maintenance of our brand new Coatema line, in our own Material Sciences laboratory, ensuring the production of high-quality coated materials.
This role reports to Imke de Grahl, Lab Operations Lead, and has key stakeholder relationships with lab & technical team members.
How you'll help build one - fıve:
Coating Line Operations
- Operate coating dispersion line equipment, to ensure smooth and efficient coating processes
- Prepare coating materials by accurately measuring and mixing ingredients, following established formulas and recipes
- Perform regular quality checks throughout the production process to verify coating thickness, adhesion, and appearance
- Make necessary adjustments to achieve product quality standards
- Monitor process parameters to ensure optimal performance
- Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of coating equipment to ensure its proper functioning
- Safety compliance
- Maintain accurate records of production activities, process parameters, and quality control measurements
- Generate reports on production performance, equipment maintenance, and any deviation from set standards
- Identify opportunities for process optimization & efficiency improvements
- Train other team members on coating line operations, safety procedures & quality standards
Who you are:
- Experience in a process industrial environment, ideally dispersion coating
- Experience preparing coatings
- Ideally have a technical background in paper or other materialsbased packaging
- Strong problemsolving and decision making skills, with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues
- Fluency in English, as this is our working language
- Fluency in German, a bonus, to speak with suppliers and external partners occasionally

Hiring Process:
Once submitted, your CV will be reviewed by the People team, and shortlisted for interviews.
There will be 3-5 interviews, from an initial call with People team, to meeting the wider team in person.
