Unser Profil:

Ihr Profil:

You have completed a University degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, automation engineering, or computer science with a focus on control engineering and achieved very good results.

You have a strong foundation in the field of control and automation engineering and are eager to further develop your knowledge in this area.

Being involved in projects and teaching activities is an attractive challenge for you. Ideally, you have already gained programming experience in Python, C++, Matlab/Simulink, or similar in a control engineering context.

You are able to develop novel solutions for challenging technical problems in a team, speak fluent German and have a good knowledge of English.

Ihre Aufgaben:

Essential components for implementing these systems are trajectory planning and tracking control. These components guide the mobile system to a defined destination based on information from modern navigation filters. In addition to safety considerations, their design focuses on efficiency and sustainability. Besides established methods such as graph-based planning or model-based predictive control, novel approaches based on machine learning are pursued. Here, control engineering expert knowledge is combined with real process data to achieve optimal system behavior. These innovative solutions are developed in cooperation with technology leaders from industry and research. All project results can be validated in experiments using real prototypical use cases as part of high-profile projects.

We are looking for a member for the group "Mobility" at the Institute of Automatic Control as soon as possible.

Within collaborative projects, you will be responsible for developing novel algorithms for trajectory planning and vehicle control. The considered use cases include inland navigation, underwater vehicles, off-road vehicles, drones, and others. We are particularly interested in you developing and setting your personal research priorities based on existing approaches.

You can benefit from the many years of experience of the scientists at IRT, who will always support you with diverse methodological expertise.

You are encouraged to share your scientific results with the community at international scientific conferences and in scientific journals. Furthermore, you can establish contacts worldwide. We are looking for a dedicated staff member to work on these topics as soon as possible.
