Your tasks:
You will be joining a project that aims at understanding the regulation and function of nuclear actin in hypoxia. Actin is a cytoskeletal protein that plays essential roles in many cellular processes, such as adhesion and motility.

While traditionally considered a cytoplasmic protein, it is now clear that actin is also found in the nucleus where it participates in many essential processes such as, chromatin remodeling and transcriptional regulation.

Based on our preliminary data, the nuclear actin pool is influenced by the oxygen availability, which opens the possibility that this regulation shapes the cellular transcriptional response to hypoxia.

You will analyze nuclear actin dynamics and the influence on hypoxic gene expression using state of the art methods including e.g.

CRISPER-Cas9 genome editing, ATAC-seq, RNA-seq and live cell imaging using high resolution microscopy.

Your profile:

Master or diploma in life science (biology, biomedicine, molecular medicine or comparable studies)

- profound knowledge in basic molecular biological methods and cell culture
- excellent management and communication skills
- strong ability to draw logical conclusions
- ability to work independently and in a team
- high intrinsic motivation and enthusiasm
- proof of English proficiency
