Fotografiska is the Contemporary Museum of Photography, Arts, and Culture. A destination to discover world-class photography, inspiring programming, elevated dining, and surprising new experiences, Fotografiska was founded in Stockholm in 2010. The Museum has since opened a treasured, historic landmark building in NYC's Flatiron District, expanded to Tallinn, and will welcome a Berlin Museum in 2023.

Fotografiska Berlin is slated to open on 14th of September and located at Oranienburger Strasse 54 inside a unique historic and cultural landmark and home to an unexpected mix of world-class art, vibrant cultural programming, and exceptional dining experiences.

Housing 5,500 square meters, the architects Herzog & de Meuron have been assigned to carry out renovations to the cultural heritage site.


The Role


Our Head Bartender executes an innovative world-class beverage program to complement the Bar Verōnika & Verōnika Restaurant operations at Fotografiska Berlin.

Reporting to the Bar Verōnika Manager and Verōnika General Manager, the role oversees all aspects of the bar operations, including the training, development and management of bar staff, curating and updating the bar program, whilst always developing and instilling service excellence with the goal of developing rapport with our members and guests.

Our Head Bartender will represent Bar Verōnika with hospitality and generosity in every interaction, should expect to manage through ambiguity and will need to be ready to support all Fotografiska departments in meeting the needs of the museum.


Requirements:


  • 5+ years acting as a Head Bartender or similar role in luxury hospitality, food + beverage, or bar environments.
  • Experience implementing and managing beverage program's for highend, highly visible entertainment entities.
  • The capacity to work within an everchanging environment, assisting to develop operating procedures as the business dictates and the willingness to support in other areas as required to maintain the integrity of the Bar Verōnika & Veronika Restaurant operations.
  • An advocate and ambassador of service excellence who understands the critical role that exceeding and maintaining service expectations plays in the success of building F+B operations.
  • Encompassing several spheres of hospitality blending service excellence, innovation, creativity and operations the role calls upon but is not limited to: beverage creation & development, alongside workflow and management of all operational functions as they pertain to the beverage program.
  • Supply expert knowledge of the beverage program, ensure the quality of all product, superior storage and service methods, while following and keeping to all local, state, and federal laws relating to alcohol service and consumption.
  • Manage and oversee daily planning and upkeep of the beverage department operations to ensure an integrated, efficient, and profitable operation.
  • Assist all Management team's implementation of the beverage program training for Bar and Floor staff across the venue.
  • Assist the Bar Manager with the establishment of operating systems and the onboarding and set up of training schedules with new staff.
  • Assist the Veronika General Manager in counting monthly inventory pars of all alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages and inputting these into Excel and Gastranovie.
  • Creating an excellent work environment, the ability to bring a diverse group of humans from various experiences, countries, and cultures together centered up teamwork and mutual respect.
  • Ongoing development of team members to ensure detailed product knowledge, growth, and professionalism.
  • Effective communication during preservice briefings of information relating to all beverage offerings, members, guests, and daily operations.
  • Control labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, and purchasing decisions, including inventory, and cash control.
  • Set the standards of service unique to our properties, consistently working to improve the delivery of service, and implementing all systems to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Attend regular operational meetings to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departments.
  • Implement effective policies to ensure that all beverage cellars, bars and service station cleanliness meets the HACCP regulations.
