Professorship for Legal Informatics

with a focus on Natural Language Processing

(pay grade W2, untenured - limited till 31 March 2026)
The postholder will teach courses in the upcoming _Master of Laws in Legal Informatics_
programme. Specifically, they will cover the modules "Introduction to Computer Science",
"Software Development", "Databases", "User Interfaces" and "Information Retrieval and
teach the technical aspects in the aforementioned modules at a scientific level suitable for
master's degrees; the legal aspects of the master's programme will be taught by other faculty
members. Classes may be taught in German or English. A research focus on Natural
Language Processing and the ability to connect to current projects at the Faculty of Law and
the Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics are expressly desired.

Faculty of Law is renowned for its first-class legal education and a strongly international
outlook. Working at the forefront of private law, criminal law, public law, procedural law,
international and European law as well as the principles of law, the faculty's thematic focus is
on the legal aspects of the economy, labour and employment; finance and taxation; Europe
and the international dimensions of law; IT; media; communication and digitalisation; as well
as the foundations of law and legal procedure.
