In order to support the Modelling, Simulation & Performance department, Airbus Operations is looking for a


Bachelor Thesis:
Automated Regression Testing for Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) (d/f/m):

Your location:

You will be working at the largest production site for civil aircraft situated in Hamburg. Its location on the southern banks of the river Elbe includes the option to commute by ferry. Your tasks and responsibilities:


Your work will include:


  • Development of an automated setup for regression testing of a CFD tool (Star-CCM+)
  • Creation of a collection of test cases
  • Scripting framework for automatic calculation of these test cases
  • Creation of a dashboard to summarize the regression test results

Desired skills and qualifications:


  • Enrolled fulltime student (d/f/m) within Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace or similar field of study
  • Interest in Numerical Methods, Modelling and Programming
  • Interest in Fluid Dynamics and Thermodynamics
  • First experience with CFD tools (preferably Star CCM+)
  • Previous experience with Python and/or Java would be helpful
  • Basic Linux skills would be helpful
  • English: Fluent
