We are looking for a skilled and highly motivated scientist with a PhD or MD degree and expertise in biophysics, molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, physiology, or related fields. The postdoctoral fellow will join the Institute of Physiology II, University of Muenster, Germany, under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Linke.

This research group is widely recognized for its contributions related to the giant protein titin in healthy and diseased muscle/heart.

The ideal candidate will become part of a diverse, dynamic, and international team comprising both seasoned and junior researchers with numerous national and global collaborations, and a track record of high-quality research output.

The position is fully funded internally (100% TV-L E13) and will be available from August 2024 for an initial 3-year period, with potential for extension following positive evaluation. The focus of the experimental work will be on studying the role of titin in the heart using mouse and cell culture models.

Required Qualifications:

  • Applicants should be highly motivated with a PhD or MD degree in physiology, molecular cardiology, cell biology, biochemistry, biomechanics, or related fields.
  • Ability to present research findings and work towards publication in scientific journals.
  • Proficiency in English is essential, and knowledge of German or willingness to learn German is required due to teaching commitments.
