The corporate standardization team provides critical value for Nokia through standardization that create technology that helps the world act together


What you will learn and contribute to
You are passionate to join the leading standardization team in the mobile industry. We help the world act together by global standard, and we prepare for a 6G world.

We contribute Nokia and Nokia Bell Labs leading innovations into the standardization process, while ensuring standardization rules which provide fair recognition for these contributions.

Nokia is a trusted partner, and we hold critical leadership roles in Global, Regional and National standardization and standardization policy organization.

The role of Head of Standardization Policy has a strong external dimension

  • Represent Nokia on leadership level in national, European and global Standardization and Industry Fora with a focus on Standardization and Technology Policy
  • Maintain strong relationship on leadership level to standardizatoin bodies and Industry Associations and in conjunction with Nokia policy team with political stakeholders
  • Demonstrate Nokia thought leadership through conferences talks, blogs and other external communication
Equally the role entails a strong internal role in the overall management of Nokia standardization and Industry role

  • Take strong role in managing Nokia's portfolio of Nokia standard and industry memberships, policies and process
  • Drive internal strategy related to standardization policy together with other stake holder
  • You develop a strong network to related Nokia policy and Government Relations teams and experts

Your skills and experience
To successful fill the role longer experience in a similar role is a prerequisite. You should bring with you experience in leading external work. You maintain a large professional external network. You are familiar with a globally operating corporate environment. You combine own leadership and team play and embody the Nokia values of trusted and integrity.


Besides standards and industry groups related to communication (3GPP, ITU, IETF, IEEE...) Nokia recognizes the increasing importance of more data and IT related standardization policy questions (Data, Cybersecurity, AI, Open Source...).

A direct experience from that perspective would be a plus.
