One vacancy for MODEL-BASED SYSTEMS ENGINEERING SPECIALIST AND COACH (M/F/d) has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space in Germany, Manching.

You will join the Process, Methods and Tools Team "PMT" Department.

The positions will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities


In this role you will define and implement the seamless digital connection of the system design layers (L0, L1, L2, L3) with Systems Engineering Processes, Methods and Tools for the development life cycle in particular for the NGWS system of system along with tools standardization and their effective usage and support.

In addition you will need to connect the system design methods to the virtual engineering methods within Airbus Defence and Space.

Your tasks and responsibilities:


  • Defining readytouse methods based on (MO)FLT methodology to connect system design and system design verification along the complete system lifecycle in close cooperation with other PMT teams, the Business Lines and the Airbus Group. This includes defining manuals, guidelines, handbooks, best practices, training materials, checklists, templates, customisation, tool usage, etc.
  • Connecting MBSE environment incl. Mission Analysis, Operational Analysis, Functional Analysis, Conceptual design, with Simulation environment in order support the complete design verification till CDR
  • Training and coaching of employees, mentoring and rollout of respective processes, methods and tools
  • Identifying capability needs and setting up adequate training concepts together with training organizations.
  • Advancing methodologies integrated into the PMT environment and implemented as standards engineering practice in Airbus Defence and Space.
  • Supporting Business Lines in for the connected MBSE
  • Simulation approaches.
  • Provide MBSE support to produce project deliverable documents according to the customer requirements
  • This role will involve frequent travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.

Desired skills and qualifications:


  • Master degree in Systems/Electrical/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years experiences in Engineering, in particular on Systems Engineering

Operational Analysis, Requirements Analysis, System Design, Design Verification, IV&V, Good knowledge in Aircraft Systems, Human Factors Engineering, and Interface Management, ASEP certification would be beneficial.


  • Extended knowledge of systems engineering processes, methods, tools, and languages such as:
ISO/IEEE 15288, ARP 4754A, DEVELOP,
Cameo System Modeller, Enterprise Architect, MEGA, DOORS,
SysML, UML, UAF, NAF 3.1,Java, Java Script, and Python

  • Very good coordination and communication skills as well as assertiveness
  • Ability to work crossfunctionally and in an international environment
  • Ability to build and maintain a network
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Negotiation level in English/German or in English/French, Knowledge in French/German would be a plus
